I got the idea to do another catgirl artwork when I read one of my viewers loves catgirls with whiskers. (It can take take that little to trigger me.) In general it's a way to say thank you to everybody. Usually I downsize my picture for posting on DA (I hate watermarks), but for once I'd like you to see own of works on the scale that I use to create it.

I got the face by trying to paint after several pictures of the French actress Mireille Darc, without worrying too much if it really looked like her, as long as I got a pretty face. It's a technique I use often to get new faces for my artwork - get a good face, and it's downhill from there.
I wanted to get a platinum blonde with big brown eyes, but halfway there, the hair got a such a nice reddish hue that I decided to go from there. This colour meant that, to match, the white cat I had in mind had to become a panther.
Almost all the colors in the picture were cloned from the face or the hair. I clone colors a lot - I've discovered this often gives great harmony (look around on DA and you'll find people painting with stupendous technique in the most garish of color combinations) and it helps to give a more natural feel to the light. This doesn't mean that I leave them as is. E.g. I got the wooden color of the frame by 'burning' a much lighter yellow - 'burn' and 'dodge' are among my favorite tools, with push and smudge.
To add the spice to the color scheme I gave the view from the window a blueish hue.
